UFit Personal Training was established in December 2009 and has grown steadily since then for being a reliable, result driven service (see client testimonials). Clients are trained from a private studio in Coleraine which many prefer to crowded gyms.
I have always been passionate about exercise and fitness and the benefits they bring. I decided to become a personal trainer to share that interest and passion with others who needed some direction and structure to their training.
Today having a trainer is seen as an educated decision as 99% of the time random exercise alone will not get you to where you need to be. I believe in building strong working relationships with my clients, helping them move forward and not remaining stagnant. Whether you are an athlete who trains regularly or someone who simply wants to improve their quality of life I can tailor a progressive and structured programme to ensure you are training smarter and not wasting your time in the gym.
To date I have three years’ experience working in the industry and have worked with rugby players, track athletes and boxers. I started working from a commercial gym in Coleraine which was great for gaining knowledge and experience. As my client portfolio grew I decided it was time to open my own studio and took my clients with me. As you can see from below I have first-hand experience competing at national and world level, I firmly believe that a trainer must have tried and tested their methods before subscribing them in a client’s programme.

Weight Loss for Adults
Exercise referral is the practice of medical professionals referring patients to qualified exercise professionals. Exercise referral has become an established method of not only promoting physical activity/exercise to individuals, as a means of improving their health and well-being, but also encouraging habitual participation for long-term benefits.
This service is unique in this area because it is not just for gym goers. Weight training and cardiovascular training have been shown to reduce high blood pressure, improve insulin sensitivity, increase bone density, reduce lower back pain and bring some relief to those suffering from depression. After working with Obesity Group ‘Motivate’ in the Causeway Hospital Coleraine the NHS sent me on this course. If you are interested in availing of this service contact your local GP and pass on my details, in many instances the NHS will pay some or all of my fee which is beneficial for those who cannot work due to their condition.

“I had been attending a local slimming club for a good while before and after the birth of my daughter but I had hit a brick wall and the weight wasn’t shifting. No matter how much I stuck to the eating plan nothing was happening. With help and guidance from Tony at UFit and by combining appropriate exercises with my diet I’ve lost a stone and several inches in less than 8 weeks and feel great!! Here’s to the next stone.” Amanda Matthew, Nov 2011.
“In total I have almost lost 3 stone…never mind the inches!! Through training with Tony I have undertaken a brand new lifestyle this has included; new eating habits, reaching mini goals and milestones and I can do things I never dreamt of doing e.g. ran a half marathon last year!! My newfound fitness has enabled me to be sharper in my work and personal life.” Gillian Ekin Sept 2011
“Before training I weighed 18 ½ stone, by cutting out sugar and processed foods from my diet and with training advice from Tony I am in the best shape of my life, I now weigh around 12 stone and am much fitter!” Jason McKinney, Feb 2011
“I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the sessions over the last 18 months - I'm fitter than I've ever been. Your knowledge of the technical side of things, the depth, breadth and variety of your programmes, your ability to motivate and your dietary advice were all superb! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you to anyone...” Simon Smyth, Oct 2012
